Ballimore Oysters is based on the shores of Loch Fyne, on the East side facing West in a small village called Otter Ferry. The oysters attain their name from Ballimore Estate; the estate that they are laid on. The positioning of the oyster farm is very fortunate as it's halfway down Loch Fyne with no large rivers interfering with the natural sea flavour. The tidal flow is very fast and therefore gives the oysters plenty of plankton-rich water for nutrition, and keeps the oysters clean too.
